Hi everyone, my name is Dale, I am 56 years old, married to my wife Jackie for 30 years, we have 3 beautiful grown up kids, all flown the nest now but still costing me a fortune, wouldn't have it any other way as I would do anything for my family. I also have 2 grandchildren, they are the ones that keep me young.

I have worked for best part of my life since I left school, I worked in the hosiery trade for 4 years before the untimely death of my father in 1988, He always told me, "Whatever you want to do in life, don't let anything stop you," so I joined the Armed Forces the year after. I served just over 23 years exemplary service in Germany, Canada, Northern Ireland and the UK, I also completed 2 Tours of Iraq and a Tour of Duty in Northern Ireland. For my resettlement I attended and passed the European Golf Teachers Federation course hoping to become a golf teaching Pro, however getting a job as a golf Pro in the UK proved very difficult, so I fell back on the one job I knew I was good at, HGV Class 1 driver, I passed my test in Northern Ireland in 1993, so I have quite a few years experience as a Trucker. I have just completed 10 years service with my former employer but I still dream of what could of been if I had become a golf Pro.

It was while I was browsing the internet that I came across Launch You talking about building a business around a passion, time freedom and the laptop life style, the penny started to drop and thoughts and ideas raced around my head, I told my wife I wanted to start an online business centred around my passion for golf, I also wanted to incorporate the trucking side as well, my wife suggested I call my business 'Trucking Golfers', the idea snowballed form there.

I have now completed the Launch Pad course, the journey was difficult to start as I had to fit my study in when I finished work, as we all know time is never on our side, I work the night shift so sleep is very important to me but I managed. I now have my own website DaleThompsonGolfing.com, The Home of Trucking Golfers. I also have my own YouTube channel, these are some of the things I never thought possible if it wasn't for Launch You. The Army invested so much money in me throughout my career, it was about time I started to invest in myself.

Launch You has allowed me to build a business around the things that matter most to me: my family, lifestyle and my passion for trucking and golf.
